Casa Tropicana… Not Just a San Clemente Address...

Just steps from our San Clemente hotel, you’ll find one of the most stunning beaches and classic beach towns in southern California. San Clemente retains the feel of the quintessential California coastal village with over 300 days of perfect sunny weather. A favorite spot for many surfers, who you can watch riding waves right from the Casa Tropicana’s hotel deck.

  • Enjoy great oceanfront dining from seafood to crepes—Yum!
  • Take a walk or run on the 3-mile, ocean view beach trail
  • Spend the day in the sun with a beach chair, towel and umbrella supplied by the Casa Tropicana Hotel.
  • Stroll up Avenida del Mar to savor local flavors, shops and galleries.
“Life is Good at Casa Tropicana!!!”
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Steps from the beach and the most luxurious rooms with all the amenities you could ask for. From the moment we stepped in the front door the welcoming staff gave us a tour of the property and made sure every single thing we could possibly want or need during our stay was taken care of. The rooms are very spacious and every detail thought of for the most romantic and relaxing stay you could have. Our room had a jacuzzi, sauna, tables and refrigerator outside on our patio. The view of the beach is amazing! You can hear the waves all night long as you sleep. The guest room has an indoor jacuzzi tub, dual shower, two way fireplace(view from the bed and the tub). Luxurious, towels and robes, and a comfy bed witha flat screen TV. Inside our fridge was wine, champagne, sodas, waters and little goodies for us- all included. The Innkeepers Rick and Sue were very helpful with our dinner plans. We went to a very nice Italian restaurant just up the street. We passed many cute boutique shops and art galleries. My only complaint would be having to leave. What a great place to celebrate!

San Onofre Beach
The San Onofre Bluffs portion of San Onofre State Beach features 3.5 miles of sandy beaches with six access trails cut into the bluff above up to old Hwy 101. The beach is popular with beach goers, BBQ'ers, sun bathers, swimmers and, yes, surfers. San O offers some of the best longboard surfing on the California Coast.

Trestles Beach
Trestles is a strech of world class surf spots and beaches, consisting of, from north to south, Upper Trestles (Uppers), Lower Trestles (Lowers), Middle Trestles (Middles) and Church's. A bit of a walk through the San Mateo State Park to get down to the waves, but as any surfer that's been there will tell you, well worth it. The State Park contains seven archaeological sites, including a Juaneño Indian Village.

San Clemente State Beach
Just south of Califia Beach Park, includes camping, fire pits and picnic areas. It has been one of the most popular beaches in Southern California since 1937 because of its dramatic location on the south end of San Clemente.

Ole Hanson, San Clemente Founder

"I vision a place where people can live together more pleasantly than any other place in America...the whole picture is very clear before me...I can see hundreds of white-walled homes bonneted with red tile, with trees, shrubs, hedges of hibiscus, palms and geraniums lining the drives, and a profusion of flowers framing the patios and gardens... I want plazas, playgrounds, schools, clubs, swimming pools, a golf course, a fishing pier and a beach enlivened by people getting a healthy joy out of their life."

The city of San Clemente was founded in 1925 by real estate developer and visionary Ole Hanson. Coastal San Clemente, "Spanish Village by the Sea", was among the first planned communities developed from open land in the nation. Disembark from the train at the San Clemente Pier, just steps away from the beach, and experience Ole Hanson’s dream come to life
